Is XTB Available in Canada? (2026 Check)
By ForexCanada Editorial Team · Updated
Canada check
XTB holds licences outside Canada but is not registered with CIRO or any provincial securities regulator. If it accepts you, your account will normally be opened with an offshore group entity rather than its better-regulated subsidiaries — so CIPF coverage, CIRO margin rules and OBSI complaint handling do not apply. XTB does not serve Canadian residents.

Our take on XTB
XTB is a Warsaw-listed broker with the well-regarded xStation platform. It does not serve Canadian residents.
XTB's xStation 5 platform regularly wins awards for usability, and the company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. It has expanded into commission-free stock and ETF investing in Europe. It doesn't serve Canadian residents; Canadians wanting a similar all-in-one experience can look at Questrade (investing plus FX/CFDs) or CMC Markets Canada.

How XTB scores
Canadian protection carries 40% of the weight, so an unregistered firm can't outrank a registered one on price alone. See the full methodology.

Verify XTB yourself
- Look for the firm on CIRO's list of dealers it regulates.
- Search the legal entity name in the CSA National Registration Search and check it is registered in your province.
- Confirm CIPF membership in the CIPF member directory.
- Search the CSA investor alerts for the brand name and any look-alike websites.
- Make sure the account agreement you sign names the same legal entity — not an offshore affiliate.

XTB: frequently asked questions
Is XTB regulated in Canada?
No. XTB is not registered with CIRO or any provincial or territorial securities regulator, although it holds licences elsewhere (Poland, United Kingdom, Cyprus (EU), Belize, UAE (DIFC)). Canadian protections such as CIPF coverage and OBSI complaint handling do not apply.
Can Canadians open an account with XTB?
No. At our last check XTB did not accept Canadian residents. Using a VPN or false address to get around this breaches the broker's terms and can put your funds at risk.
