How we make money, and the rules that stop it from affecting what we publish.
By ForexCanada Editorial Team · Updated
ForexCanada.ca is free to use. We fund it mainly through referral (affiliate) fees: when you click a "Visit site" button and open or fund an account, the broker may pay us. Links that can earn us money go through our /visit/ redirect and are marked rel="sponsored".
The rules we follow
- Registration status is never for sale. A broker's Canadian status is a fact we check against public registers.
- The scoring formula is public and applies to every broker, whether or not it pays us (methodology).
- Unregistered firms never outrank registered ones. Protection is 40% of every score, with hard caps for firms that don't accept Canadians or have been barred.
- We link to brokers that don't pay us — and we show "Visit" buttons only for firms that accept Canadians, whatever the commercial terms.
- Offshore links are labelled "Visit (offshore)" so you know you're leaving the Canadian regulatory system.
- No links at all for firms offering products banned in Canada, or that have exited or been barred.
What this means for you
You pay nothing extra when you use our links. If you prefer not to support the site this way, go to the broker's website directly — our reviews are just as useful.
