By ForexCanada Editorial Team · Updated
Canada check
Hugo's Way is licensed only in offshore or light-touch jurisdictions (or not at all) and is not registered with any Canadian regulator. You would have no Canadian investor protection and limited practical recourse in a dispute. We could not confirm that it currently accepts Canadian residents — check its restricted-countries list before applying.

Our take on Hugo's Way
Hugo's Way is an unregulated MT4 broker registered in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, a jurisdiction that does not license forex firms. It is popular with North Americans turned away by regulated brokers — exactly the situation in which scams and withdrawal disputes are hardest to resolve.
Hugo's Way often appears in U.S. and Canadian trading forums because it accepts clients that regulated brokers won't, including via crypto deposits. The trade-off is total: no meaningful licence, no capital requirements, no segregation rules and no compensation scheme. If a dispute arises, there is effectively no one to complain to.
Verdict
Unregulated. Not recommended.

How Hugo's Way scores
Canadian protection carries 40% of the weight, so an unregistered firm can't outrank a registered one on price alone. See the full methodology.
