Canada check

BlackBull Markets holds licences outside Canada but is not registered with CIRO or any provincial securities regulator. If it accepts you, your account will normally be opened with an offshore group entity rather than its better-regulated subsidiaries — so CIPF coverage, CIRO margin rules and OBSI complaint handling do not apply. BlackBull Markets stopped accepting new Canadian clients in July 2023.

Our take on BlackBull Markets

BlackBull Markets is a New Zealand broker with a strong platform line-up and ECN-style pricing. It was popular with Canadians until July 2023, when it stopped accepting new Canadian clients. Existing links from older comparison sites still circulate, so it is worth being clear: it is not an option for new Canadian accounts.

BlackBull's exit left many Canadian clients looking for alternatives with TradingView support and raw pricing. Among CIRO dealers, OANDA, FOREX.com and CMC Markets offer TradingView trading, and FOREX.com and Interactive Brokers offer commission-based pricing.

Verdict

BlackBull Markets: frequently asked questions

Is BlackBull Markets regulated in Canada?

No. BlackBull Markets is not registered with CIRO or any provincial or territorial securities regulator, although it holds licences elsewhere (New Zealand, Seychelles). Canadian protections such as CIPF coverage and OBSI complaint handling do not apply.

Can Canadians open an account with BlackBull Markets?

No. At our last check BlackBull Markets did not accept Canadian residents. Using a VPN or false address to get around this breaches the broker's terms and can put your funds at risk.

Yes — BlackBull Markets supports MT4 and MT5, and you can also trade from TradingView.
